The Lincoln Log is our weekly school-wide newsletter.  It is sent out every Friday.  

Welcome to the 2027-2027 school year at Lincoln Options Elementary!

 We are so excited to begin a new year of learning, kindness and celebration with all of you.  

First Day of School Grades 1-5– Thursday, September 3rd

Kindergarten First Day of School– Wednesday, September 9th

This is different from previous years!  Because of the changes to the school calendar this year (starting before labor day) and the need to meet with all kindergarten families before the first day of school, we are going to follow the same calendar as other district schools and have kindergarten students start on Wednesday, Sept 9th

OPUS and Class lists

These will go out on Monday.  Note that if your ParentSquare settings are set to “digest” you will get the email in the evening.  If you hear through the grapevine that it has been sent out, but it hasn’t shown up in your email, you can log into ParentSquare to view it.  

Daily Details:  

The Daily Details  is a great reference for all the little details of the year, such as arrival and dismissal procedures, school meals, schoolwide agreements, etc.  Once the office is trained to add content to the new website, you’ll also be able to find it there!

End of Day Plan:  

Please complete the end of day plan for each of your students prior to the first day of school. We understand that your child may have different plans for the first few days of school, there is a field in the form for notes.  As time goes on, the office must be notified through the year of any changes to this plan.  It is important for teachers and the school office to know what your child’s End of Day Plan is so that we can direct them to the correct pick-up location or afterschool care.    

Register for the bus:

There is a form for bus registration on the school district website.  You must complete this form for each new school year.  Please fill this out at your earliest convenience.  The transportation department plans to contact families with their students' bus pick up and drop off times/location the week of August 24th. 

Volunteering

We hope that all families feel welcomed to contribute to our school in a way that is meaningful and enjoyable for them.  If you wish to volunteer in our building or accompany a field trip, please fill out the volunteer clearance application.  

Every adult must be cleared through OSD as a volunteer every year. The clearance does not roll over to the next school year.  

Clearances take up to 2 weeks to process. Please fill it out well ahead of the field trip date or just complete it now and be done with it! 

Breakfast and Lunch

Due to the percentage of Lincoln students who are eligible to receive Free/Reduced Price Lunch, this year we qualify to offer breakfast and lunch to all students for no cost.  We are really excited to be able to provide meals for all students regardless of income eligibility!
