Aid for Puerto Rico
Posted on 10/11/2017

We are currently collecting items for Puerto Rico, because they have greatly suffered from Hurricane Maria. Until the Jones Act is lifted (for more than ten days), Puerto Rico cannot receive international aid and is thus at the mercy of the U.S. So far, very little aid from the government and NGOs has reached the majority. Some communities have formed brigades, and many communities here in the US are mobilizing by sending large packages of goods.

If you want to support Puerto Rico these are the kinds of things we need:

  • Dry food!! Which can be cooked quickly because there is limited gas for cooking. Think canned food, canned beans, canned veggies. Dried soups. Dried fruit. Nuts. Canned chicken.
  • First aid supplies.
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Water purification tools. Both pumps and iodine tablets.
  • New shirts, new underwear, new socks.
  • Diapers and baby wipes.

We have set up a collection by the office. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
