Classroom News

For the week of March 9-13

I'm inspired by your children! They came to school self-regulated, ready to learn and play. They made it through two mornings of MAP testing with focus and enthusiasm. We kept the focus on learning and kindness. We spent extra time out of doors and at Choice Time just to celebrate the nice weather and each other! In the classroom, we continued to express appreciations for friends, each other and family, celebrate birthdays, listen and laugh at stories, share news from our lives. The resiliency and innocence of children is inspiring. Thank you, families, for the work you do with your children and I miss them immensely already!

What's Next?

I know we all have questions about how teachers will be supporting families/students as we are at home. What I understand is that teachers are to stay out of the schools so the custodians can thoroughly clean. The superintendent is telling us to take a week at home to take care of ourselves and our families. During that time, the school district will be making a plan for how teachers can continue to teach in some capacity. Until I have more information, I want to encourage families to play games, do puzzles, bake, write letters, read, go on walks. I'll be in touch in about a week when I know more.

Lovingly,

Caron
